Job Description: 

OVERVIEW:

 

Direct the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure results comply with general accepted accounting principles. 

 

JOB DUTIES:

·         Lead all accounting functions and financial analysis for the company, including month-end close, account analysis and reconciliations, preparing and analyzing all financial statements, and business segment reports.

·         Analyze and interpret financial data applicable to the business, and recommend actions to improve financial performance that maximizes profitability.

·         Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of the company operations.

·         Prepare and present monthly standard reporting package, including KPI reports, cash flow, flux analysis, quartile performance, sales analysis, forecasts, and all standard financial statements to the EVP of Finance.

·         Develop and manage the production of the annual budget.  Work with operations and department managers to report and improve budget variances.

·         Manage all out-sourced functions, such as payroll and tax preparation.

·         Manage all vendor related contracts/agreements and make recommendations for optimizing purchase power and cost savings opportunities.

·         Develop, implement and maintain appropriate internal processes, controls, policies and procedures to optimize efficiencies, accuracy, asset utilization, and GAAP compliance.

  • Develop financial models to evaluate the ROI on strategic initiatives, contract negotiations and pricing decisions that require capital distributions and/or investments.

·         Assist with building strong relationships with outside audit and tax firms, banks, credit agencies and other business partners to ensure maximum performance.

·         Assist with researching competitive data to ensure complete understanding of industry standards and metrics.

·         Implement short- and long-term departmental goals and objectives based on the company’s strategic plan.

·         Assist the EVP of Finance with any ad hoc projects, reports, and/or analysis as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting.  CPA certification a plus.

·         Minimum 8 years accounting experience.

·         4 years management and controllership experience.

·         Proven knowledge in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract management, payroll, treasury management and generally accepted accounting principles.  Tax experience a plus.

·         Multi-location, operations accounting experience a plus.

·         Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Projects.

·         Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and Paycor (payroll) a plus.
