Job Description: 

The Area Manager (AM) is responsible for the efficient and effective operations in a designated region and the direct oversight of site supervisors. The Area Manager ensures ongoing customer loyalty, makes sure financial goals of increased growth and profitability are met, and develops staff by demonstrating a commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace. The AM must ensure client satisfaction and operation excellence at each account.


Essential Job Functions:

·         Adherence to corporate policies and procedures; clearly communicates their importance to staff

·         Understands and sells PSI’s competitive advantage and company values

o   Knowledge of  the competition

o   Gives competitive updates, understands the customer base, and identifies key prospects

·         Develops and strengthens relationships with clients; schedule regular calls and visits

·         Audit accounts on regular intervals

o   Identify and stop theft

o   Review budgets and expenses

o   Assure policies and procedures are adhered to

·         Participate in contract negotiations and renewals as necessary

·         Sets strategic goals for self and team; meets or exceeds goals

·         Serve as problem resolution resource

·         Review payroll prior to submission to Accounting

·         Assist with management of claims reduction

·         Contributes to short term and long term organizational planning

·         Improve operational systems in support of the company vision, values and mission

·         Increases effectiveness and efficiency of managers and sites

·         Demonstrates leadership with staff and develops next generation of management

·         Conducts performance review meetings

 

Essential Qualifications:

·         Bachelors degree or 5+ years management experience, with background in sales or business development

·         Very experienced with budgets and P&L statements

o   Oversight on both PSI and customer budgets

·         Reliable transportation and ability to travel within region for site visits/client meetings

o   Valid driver’s license and car insurance required

·         Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English

·         Experience setting goals and measuring results

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style

·         Intermediate computer skills; MS Office products; keyboarding

·         Professional presentation skills; comfortable with public speaking

·         Complex problem solving skills

·         Experience working in a very fast paced environment

·         Multi-tasking abilities

·         Results driven personality

·         High organizational skills

·         Excellent customer service skills dealing with all levels of staff and the public

·         Experience with high growth companies (preferred)

 

Essential Physical Requirements

·         Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time

·         Fine finger dexterity for keyboarding

·         Acceptable vision for reading fine print, computer screens, and driving

·         Ability to drive long distances

·         Excellent hearing for listening to others in person or on the phone

·         Ability to speak in clear, understandable English

·         Ability to walk at a fast pace

·         Ability to climb stairs
